The nurturer....

The hardest thing in life is to be able to recognize and accept the fact that we are only human;

...we feel, we dream...we need...

...everybody does.

But sometimes women are not expected to "need"... they are the nurturers, the ones who care for others, the ones who put themselves last...

...and that is what is expected of us...

Sometimes we feel we have to justify those needs to others when we choose to fulfill them... live with guilt for being self-centered and thinking only of ourselves.

When we learn to let go of what others think about our actions, and do that which makes us feel right, that which our instincts and intuition tells us we should follow, take care of ourselves first, then, and only then, can we be embrace that role as nurturer, because when a person is happy and fulfilled, then they can be a better person for others...

...for when we are happy, our inner light is revealed, our joy is released, and the ability for our best self to move forward is possible; that is when our hearts are open and more accepting and tolerant to the shortcomings of others.

Happy life!

  2. Amen. Amen. Amen and Amen.
    Through out history women have been thought of as the weaker sex and Heather... we are the ones that keep it all together! But the whole message you have here... I agree to, "We are only Human"... We can only do so much with what God has given us.

  3. Heather, you have put down into words such truth. In order to help and nurture others, we must occasionally put ourselves first. That goes for any caregiver or nurturer. Thank you for this gentle reminder. Ann

  4. Yep, and we are always the last to get new undies . . . part of the territory. We would not have it any other way. Peace!

  5. So true. Women tend to put themselves last. But how can we take care of anyone else when we don't take care of ourselves!!
    Beautiful!
